The freezer trawler Norma Mary has since January been at the Akureyri port for the completion of a big reconstruction process. Last summer the ship sailed from Akureyri to a shipyard in Polland where 15 meters were added to it's lenght and a new main engine was put in. It is now is back at Akureyri for the last leg of the process. After the lengthening the ship looks good, balanced and very promising.

For the last few weeks Rafeyri has been hard at work, fixing, adding and changing numerous things in the ships electrical system along with finnishing the installation of a new alarm and monitoring system for the main engine and related systems from Lynso Marine in Danmark. The installation of the system began in Polland and aims for an unoccupied main engine room. In the meanwhile has Frost kæliverksmiðja been finishing an installatin of a new NH3 freezer system onboard together with new DSI plate freezers. The Slippurinn (Akureyri Shipyard) has also put in new additions to the fish processing deck.
Here are few photos of the ship before and after the lenghtening (Click for larger).
